A reserved matters application was submitted for the Morrisons store in March 2021 and this is currently being assess by the local planning authority. It is hoped that a decision will be made before the end of summer, enabling the construction of the store to commence in the Autumn with an opening planned early in 2022.
The Consortium have also exchanged contracts with experienced retail convenience operator ‘One Stop’ to trade in Unit 5, Middleton South in the Town Centre. One Stop have over 900 stores across the UK and are focused on delivering exceptional quality. The fit out for the store will be starting imminently with a plan to opening late June/early July 2021 subject to licensing and planning approvals.
