New Electric Buses Spark Into Service @ NGP

The start of September saw a new fleet of fully electric vehicles introduced on the Q3 service.  Nine new Voltra electric buses have joined Go North East’s fully electric fleet ready to serve a popular route into Newcastle city centre.

The buses include air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, wireless and USB charging phone holders and ‘tap-on tap-off’ contactless is available for passengers to pay for their travel through Google Pay or Apple Pay.

Go-Ahead, one of the UK’s largest bus operators, said the investment reflects the company’s commitment to a ‘net zero’ bus fleet by 2035.

In addition to the new buses operating on the service, the Q3 now operates along Sir Bobby Robson way, linking Elmwood Park to the Park and Ride site and avoiding the need for the bus to do a ‘dog leg’ up Sir Bobby Robson Way – we hope this will reduce journey times and make the service even more attractive.

If you have any issues with the bus service feel free to get in touch.
