Gosforth Harriers return to NGP on Sunday 4th August for their annual event comprising a relay race for adult members and an open junior race for local children with races for under 11s, and under 15s. More information can be found here.
Setup for the event is expected to begin at 0815 with three races at 0945 & 1015 (junior events) and then 1100 (adults relay). Competitors and spectators will start arriving around 0900 and stay until around 1230 with the site fully cleared by 1330.
Races will start/finish around the playing field to the south of the Community Centre. The course follows footpaths south and west across one Ouseburn bridge and back over the other, around the ponds and back to the playing field. The junior event is shorter at one mile, not crossing the Ouseburn.
We expect this to increase footfall and general activity on these footpaths and cycle routes in this area, so please do take this into consideration if you plan to use the routes on Sunday. We love to see active leisure taking place within the community and hope NGP residents may take part and/or cheer on the participants.
