Christmas Lights Competition Winner

In December we launched a hunt for the ‘best dressed’ Christmas home on the Park, and we thrilled to receive some fantastic entries.

The overall winner was Simon Hewitt, whose decorations feature in the photo above. Simon wins a £25 M&S voucher! Congratulations Simon!

We also wanted to commend Dean and Kate Dodds of Ringlet Drive. They set up a ‘Letters to Santa’ post box in his front garden in December (as well as adorning his house with some great lights!). Children writing to Santa received a personalised reply and a chocolate coin (for a voluntary donation), with all proceeds going to the Trussell Trust, which undertakes valuable work providing emergency food and support to those in poverty.

The post box was used by lots of children on the Great Park and the total from initiative to date is a fantastic £1,299!

In recognition of Dean & Kate’s efforts (for both charity and his Christmas Lights), the Consortium will be making a donation of £100 to the campaign and whilst Christmas might be over, its not too late to make a donation on their just giving page: http://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/GPSantaLetters
