Eldon Square Bus Station will close for three weeks from 10th to 29th June for improvement works, including resurfacing, drainage and guardrails, plus improvements to the real-time information systems. The concourse will remain open as a thoroughfare for pedestrians who need access to the shopping centre.
While the works are under way, bus services which usually operate from Eldon Square will use alternative stops elsewhere in the city centre. For NGP, all bus services will operate from Haymarket Bus Station as follows:
- Stagecoach X47 & 49 will relocate to Stand Y (at the north end)
- Gateshead Central Buses X46 will relocate to Stand R
- Go North East Q3 is unaffected and continues to use Stand R
