We are pleased to offer, in partnership with Newcastle City Council’s Road Safety Team, free cycle training this Thursday. Whether you are a complete beginner or someone thinking of getting back on your bike again, pop along and the trained instructors will give you some useful tips and support. The sessions are FREE OF CHARGE, just come along to the NGP Park and Ride Car Park any time between 09:30 and 14:30 (with your bike!)
We will be running the following sessions throughout the day: -
Learn to Ride Adult
The entry level Learn to Ride adult cycle training course covers the basics for people who cannot ride a bike, the experienced instructors will help people get to grips with their balance and teach the skills to ride a short distance comfortably.
Level 1 Adult
The Level 1 training course is designed for people who are new or returning to cycling, lacking in confidence or looking to develop their skills. Trainees will develop the skills to ride short, off road distances and improve their all-round cycling ability.
Learn to Ride Child
Training for children who cannot ride a bike without stabilisers, delivered prior to Level 1 and Level 2 Bikeability Training. For children in Year 3,4,5,6. Additional training can be arranged for pupils in secondary school.
Bikeability Level 1 Child
The next step from learning to ride and taken prior to Bikeability Level 2, children are taught to ride with confidence and develop cycle skills off road in the school grounds. For children in Year 4.
