We are aware of ongoing parking issues on Sir Bobby Robson Way and Elmwood Park Mews outside of the Esh Plaza office blocks. Evidently, the introduction of the additional 64 car parking spaces has not made any improvement to the provision of parking within the area and we have recently met with both the Landlord of the office blocks and Northumbria Police to discuss how we can resolve this issue.
In the first instance a joint note has been issued to all of the tenants within Esh Plaza from Northumbria Police and Newcastle Great Park. This clearly outlines our position and states that members of the Newcastle North Neighbourhood Team will be attending the area regularly to monitor the issue, please click here to read more. It has also been made clear to all employees that the Park & Ride facility must be used if the Esh Plaza car park is full which is only a 400 metre walk from the offices.
We are taking this issue very seriously and will be exploring the options of private parking enforcement if the problem does persist and we deem this necessary. We will continue to work closely with all parties to ensure this is resolved and will consult with Residents Associations on any further actions.
