Northumbrian Water update 13th July 2009
Work carried out to date
Work on the southbound carriageway is now complete. The 18" water main on the northbound carriageway has been located and exposed between the Three Mile Bridge and Sandy Lane, Seaton Burn. A camera survey of this section of pipe has been carried out and cleaning of the pipe began on Tuesday, 23 June 2009. Issues Camera surveys have shown that some of the pipe may have to be re-lined rather than cleaned, which will result in more excavations than was planned. Everything will be done to keep disruption to a minimum.
The programme of work will take longer than anticipated due to the above. We will update you on our revised programme as soon as possible.
Traffic management
Additional traffic management has been approved by the council - details will be included in future updates.
