Enhanced Bus Services – From April 2013

We are pleased to announce the launch of a new and enhanced X40 ‘Park and Ride’ Service providing a direct link between Newcastle City Centre and NGP via Regents Centre.

Operated by Go North East, a locally based operator, the service has been introduced in response to feedback from existing bus users, local residents and other key stakeholders.  The service runs every 20 minutes during the day using a fleet of bendy buses; so finding a seat isn’t going to be an issue!

What’s more a weekly ticket is currently reduced to just £10 (normal price £12) and parking is free at the Park and Ride site opposite Sage.  With a range of user friendly tickets available including Go North East’s ‘The Key’ (smart card) or m-ticket app (for smartphones) options we hope you’ll find the service a convenient and cost effective alternative to battling traffic to get into/out of the city centre.

For more information, timetables and latest offers on the service please visit the new NGP Community website http://www.newcastlegreatpark-life.co.uk/travel/bus/.

In addition to the new X40 service Arriva are currently continuing to operate their services to NGP.

The enhanced bus services are funded by the NGP Consortium to ensure the development is accessible for all.  This is part of the broader commitment to sustainable travel which will see a range of initiatives delivered over the coming years as the development progresses; from electric car charging points to cycle lanes NGP aims to be a truly green development!  For more information contact the Travel Plan Manager for NGP by emailing rob.bettison@travelplanservices.co.uk or calling 01924 237088.
